Education with Values

How the school day is organised

The Maa Kalyanika Public School system is built around healthy competition, shared responsibility and all-round development — from the house system and the school cabinet to compulsory clubs and continuous assessment.

House System

The student community is divided into four houses — Yellow, Blue, Red and Green. Each house has a house in-charge (teacher), assisted by house captains and vice-captains. To create an atmosphere of healthy competition and team spirit, most school activities and competitions are governed by this system.

Computer Education

The school offers computer education to students from Class I onwards. The computer lab is well equipped with all modern facilities, along with smart classes.

School Cabinet

Apart from the house system, the school has a board of prefects led by the Head Boy, Head Girl and Cabinet Members.

Monitors

During the absence of a teacher from the class, the monitor along with the sub-monitor assumes responsibility for order and discipline in the class.

Clubs

To promote all-round development, membership of a club is compulsory for every child.

Assessment

The progress of students in their studies is evaluated continuously. A “Parent–Teacher Meeting” is held in which the progress of every student is discussed. Suggestions of guardians are welcomed, and the school and concerned teachers act on them as needed.

The Learning Curriculum

Based on CBSE’s latest guidelines

The curriculum is based on CBSE’s latest guidelines. Apart from the planned, time-bound course, we inculcate motor and communication skills, etiquette, manners, truth, honesty, bravery and compassion in various ways. The promotion of a student to the next higher class is based on performance, and the progress report includes other achievements too.

The courses of study are the same as recommended by the Central Board of Secondary Education from KG to Class VIII, and prepare students from Class IX onwards in accordance with the syllabus prescribed by NCERT. At the senior secondary level (Classes XI–XII), students can choose Science, Commerce or Arts.

ⓘCommon & compulsory subjects are General Studies, Work Experience, and Physical & Health Education.
  • Opportunities and training to participate in prestigious competitive examinations such as the National Talent Search Test and the National Maths, Science and Cyber Olympiads.
  • Talks, seminars and workshops conducted regularly for students and teachers to strengthen teaching and learning strategies.
  • Computer education from Class I, supported by smart classes and well-equipped laboratories.
  • Regular visits to the laboratories, combining theoretical and practical knowledge.
Co-curricular Activity

Developing personality, initiative and originality

To develop students’ personality, initiative and originality, and to bring out their inherent talent, enough scope is provided to take part in co-curricular activities. We offer a range of activities that foster all-round development with an integral approach, helping your child grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.

Games & Sports

Very big playgrounds for outdoor games — cricket, football, badminton, basketball, lawn tennis and more. Students are encouraged to play Kabaddi and Kho-Kho too. Inter-class and inter-school tournaments are arranged, along with a range of indoor games.

Music & Dance

Music and dance classes are taken by experts in their fields. On ‘Annual Day Celebration’, a grand cultural programme is staged.

Swings & Slides

Swings and slides are placed beautifully in the school garden. Tiny children are taken to the garden to swing and slide during recess.

Regular features of the school curriculum

To ensure all-round development of mind and physique, and to provide training in every sphere, these activities are regular features of school life:
