About School

A gurukulam for the modern world, in the midst of nature

Maa Kalyanika Public School Education Standards, with its second campus set up under His Holiness Baba Kalyan Das Ji Maharaj, was established in the year 2017. MKPS has campuses in Pendra Road (C.G.) and Amarkantak (M.P.), the latter under the name KKSN.

It is a school with the primary motive to “train students who are able and eager to create and put into action their ideas, methods and concepts.”

The incubators of MKPS had a dream of a gateway that provides a global outlook and an infrastructure that beckons students to explore and learn — a cradle that nurtures high ethical and human values.

The spirit of excellence that permeates MKPS remains the driving force. The school takes pride in being a place where students and faculty can pursue knowledge without boundaries, a place where theory and practice combine to produce a better understanding of our world and ourselves.

“Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man.”

Messages from our leadership

Shri Kalyan Das Ji Maharaj, Founder and Chairperson

Founder & Chairperson’s Message

A school plays a central role in nurturing and developing the unique talent of every child as well as in shaping their character. In a fast-changing world, driven by technological innovations, the way children learn today and the way they will work tomorrow are redefining the contours of teaching and learning everywhere.

At Maa Kalyanika Public School, we are always guided by our foundational philosophy of providing children happy learning experiences, while continuously incorporating the distinct features of a school of the future to foster critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication. Children’s holistic development and well-being are always at the heart of everything we do. Our constant endeavour is to identify children’s interests early on and develop them into their passion.

Our teachers are our pillars of strength. They teach our children not just with their minds but with their hearts, making learning enjoyable and rewarding, and instilling in them sound values. Our educational programmes are complemented by state-of-the-art facilities and excellent resources, with numerous opportunities to engage and excel in sports and co-curricular activities.

Our accomplishments over the years exemplify the success of our education model — an international school with an Indian mind, an Indian heart and an Indian soul. I invite you to explore MKPS as we rededicate ourselves every day to provide an excellent education for our children.

Managing Trustee’s Message

The sharp decline in the moral and cultural values, craze for power and material advancement, callous disregard of fellow men, guided missiles but misguided men, hypocrisy, exploitation and amassing of wealth even through Machiavellian means have cumulatively caused alarming deterioration and decline in the quality of today’s man. Gone with the wind are the gospels of Mother Geeta who preaches, “Action is thy duty, reward not thy concern.” Man has virtually become a slave to hedonistic pleasure. In such a chaotic condition it would be gibberish, gobbledegook and double talk to talk about value education and globalisation.

Science and technology definitely have revolutionised life, but it would be worthwhile to remember what C. E. M. Joad has observed: “Science has given us powers fit for Gods, but we still use them like small children.” Boons may become a curse if irrationally used; the burning examples are the computer and the internet. Instead of using them for educational pursuits and innovation, immature adolescents are using them for fun, time-pass and movies.

Science has promised us truth. It has never promised us peace and happiness. Peace and happiness are provided by religion, and that is why Einstein, the greatest scientist of the 20th century, was led to remark: “Science without religion is blind and religion without science is lame.” Martin Luther King observed: “We have guided missiles but misguided men.” The malady lies in the root, and unless the root is saved the tree would rot.

Holistic education, which takes into cognisance the shaping of the entire personality, remains the surest and shortest cut to save the tree from further degeneration. Youth is a period of energy, ideas, vigour, vitality and visions. This would be possible only when education, as Baba Ji has observed, embraces both the temporal and timeless values of our culture. The philosophy of the Gurukul through modern technology would pave the way for material, mental and moral advancement. The students should realise that a student’s life is not a life of pleasure but of penance, austerity, self-abnegation and sacrifice. The school aspires to train its impressionable young learners, making them academically well equipped, physically fit, culturally awakened and morally sound.

“नास्ति विद्या सम चक्षुः” — There are no eyes like wisdom.

Maa Kalyanika Public School aspires to endow its students with these eyes, by the grace of Holy Mother Narmada and the blessings of Pujya Baba Ji. Narmade Har.

Principal’s Desk

As the Principal of MKPS, I feel honoured and privileged to be part of an educational institution where every stakeholder is a learner and every day is an opportunity to learn and discover. We look at ourselves as a community of learners, where everyone learns — including our teachers, parents and staff. I believe in upholding high standards, with an absolute commitment to strive to understand and improve the educational process, using team strategies, while wholly centring on students’ achievement.

The school activities are planned and prepared meticulously, giving equal importance to academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. These activities are strategically implemented to ensure the overall development of the students. The school has an excellent infrastructure which provides an ideal and safe environment for teaching and learning. I feel proud to express that the school is performing extremely well in all aspects to ensure academic and human excellence.

Our staff employ two diverse strategies — Love and Logic — to foster a positive learning environment. Love nurtures trusting relationships, where students feel respected, appreciated and loved by their teachers; logic develops personal responsibility, self-control, good decision-making, self-confidence and character with high moral values.

Your child’s learning involves and revolves around an effective partnership between home and school. We know the stronger the partnership is, the more your child will benefit. The clear vision of the management, the systematic approach of the administration, the commitment and dedication of the teaching and non-teaching staff, the cooperation of stakeholders and the hard work of the students together have branded Maa Kalyanika Public School as a centre of academic excellence. Our journey towards excellence continues.

I look forward to working with you to create a school where parents are welcome at any time, students are engaged in meaningful learning, and staff members are valued and appreciated for their efforts.
